BYOC -Bringing the crazy on a Monday :)
1. Are you a heavy or light sleeper? I am a pretty light sleeper. My husband also snores. Oy. My children also talk in their sleep. I take Melatonin :)
2. If you were made into a professor for a day, what topic would you lecture on? Hmm I'm not a fan of public speaking. Makes my sphincter twitch. But over the years I've been doing some summer camps and so teach sports medicine related things at them. So if you would like to know about athletic injuries that would be it!
3. What’s a skill you’ve always wanted that you don’t currently have? WillPower!!! And I wish I was a good schmoozer. That would be super handy.
4. Have you ever been in a real cat fight? Um Yes. My first was in girl scouts. HA! One of them pissed me off. In college there may have been an alcohol fuled situation. -only 1 thank you. I'm not a fan of confrontation. I hope that I would use my brain and talk out a greevance now, unless some ho looks at the husband ;)
5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in real life and in blog land. Blogland: eh, I'm trying to keep up. I'm reading much more that commenting. Sometimes the ipod doesn't let me comment -that's where I tend to do my reading.
Real life: It's a lil crazy. My mom's thyroid removal went well, until we got back the pathology report. There was some cancer there. Nobody saw that coming. My Dad died in May 2009 from cancer, and so I had a massive panic in my bathroom for a hot minute. I'm calmer now. I'm hoping this will be very treatable and that the reason she was to have the thyroid out -was to discover this early (hoping for divine intervention here). So appointment tomorrow to make plans for scans, treatment etc...
Then Saturday I went to one of my best friends mom's funeral. Oy. That really was a bummer. She had dimentia for nearly 10 years. She was only in her late 50's. My friend even spoke about her mom. Tears were a flowing.
My kids and I have a wicked cold. It makes me sad to hear there little coughs in the night. Hopefully the next couple days will ease their symptoms.
Band-wise: I'm sucking ass. This weekend was like I had no band at all. I ate at the funeral dinner, I ate at my inlaws, I ate a my book club last night. I ate pigs in a blanket. wft?? Really? A pig in a delicious bacon blanket??? Yeah. Stress eater? Yes I am. 7 days to a fill.
A little blog about whatever comes to mind! A record of the weight loss journey I am on, with life sprinkled in.

Otherwise same ol same here. February blahs...Need some damn sun.

Y Yes I DId -2 things!
1. I managed to peel my ass out of bed and hit the Y!! Yay for me! So I did 2 miles on the treadmill and lifted lower body today. Small victories man. That's what I'm focusing on.
Breakfast:
Egg white omlet with colby jack cheese
Coffee/ff creamer
Lunch:
3 Turkey meatballs with Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce
2 yogurt covered raisins snatched from my son
I packed greek yogurt (cabot low fat vanilla) with raspberries for my snack @ work and a Vanilla Latte Click shake <- so freakin yummy.
Only around 24 oz H2O so far.
2. I got the damn iphone. I really like it. I know there is so much more it can do than I even know. I need to find a pro. I can't even figure out custom ring tones yet. Damn. I'm all about fun sounds.
Aaaannndd I even allowed myself a bath today. Not the super fast, wash a kid too, everyday shower. No. A bath. What? Why do we, as women, stop treating ourselves? A simple bath made me relaxed and happy today. I haven't taken the time for a bath since I was pregnant for my son. 2008. I also painted my nails -again a luxury. Maybe I'll tweeze and whiten teeth at some point this weekend too. Who am I?!

Gone So Long
Yup. That's me. Am I just not cut out for the bloggy world? I don't know. Life just really taking over all my time! I think of a good blog subject in the shower and then *poof* its gone by the time I find myself at a computer. I guess I will attempt a catch up.
So with all this shiz starting to eat at my mind, the weight loss has stalled out. I guess stress is a large contributor, but for as little as is going in some days I expected something more. For example yesterdays menu:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with raspberries
Lunch: Greek quinoa salad (quinoa, feta, cucumber, tomato, chicken, Greek vinaigrette) 3/4 cup serving
Snack @ work: 3/4 cup Cabot Greek yogurt (low fat vanilla -so freakin good) with raspberries
Dinner: Click protein shake and couple bites beef from stir fry made for family.
Water here and there, and 1.5 cups of coffee with fat free creamer.
I guess I should bust out the fitness pal and get some nutritional fact for the above before making assumptions.
And maybe GET MY ASS TO THE GYM. hmmm.
- After a long battle with good ol best buy (3 months worth) I have a new laptop. Yay! I could read some blogs from my ipod but not post/comment :(
- My mom had her thyroid removed last Thursday. She recovered for a few days with us. The kids super enjoyed her here, and keep asking "Hey where's Grammy?" Pronounced gr-w-ammy by my baby boy.
- Work is a pisser. I worked 10 hours last Sat. and it's looking like the same for this coming Saturday. My house looks like hell. I NEED to have a couple days to just tackle some clutter. Starting with the clean laundry in my own room. I get the kids put away and husbands laid out nice for him, but my own waits in the basket to be put away, and waits, and waits... One day off is not enough, especially when it's already filled with church, lunch with in laws and some grocery shopping.

Super Bowl Partys are The Devil
Dang those tasty snacks and beverages!! I had TOO MUCH!! Someone needs some stinkin restriction. I did feel full which was a first for me. It was actually a painful feeling just under the front of my ribs. It was just not good. I swear I had a whole day's calories just at that party.
Now for the good news. I ate WAY less than I have before at these types of things. I had protein first...and second... And I was not able to go overboard as I would have before. But still disgusted with myself. Damn chocholate covered pretzels. Today is a new day.
Eggs for breakfast and some coffee. I need to get on the water train. I'm appauled at myself. I need to do so much better with this. At my last appointment my dietician said to wait 60 to 120 minutes to drink after eating. WHAT?! 2 freakin hours? By the time I remember to drink something I'm ready for a snack. -or am I super thirsty? Such a vicious cycle of hunger and thirst and I'm the idiot in the middle who can't figure it out.
No real loss for the week. My weight jumped around on the scale this week. Up and down. I'm going to try to hydrate better this week and see how that helps.
Happy Monday ;)

It's Saturday, and Cancer blows goats.
Here it is a beautiful snowy Saturday. I'm working (of course) today is a basketball tournament. Coaches versus Cancer benefit and so it's a sea of pink. They will be donating proceeds to Am Cancer Soc. and have a dedication to a former teacher/game manager/long time coach who passes away this past fall after a long battle. I won't be able to be in the gym for that part. Too emotional. I had to say goodbye to my Dad a year and a half ago. He had lung cancer that spread. You aren't the same after you hold a loved one while they leave this world. I'd like to think stronger, more compassionate. Or maybe I just cry a lot easier? Who knows. I don't know Barbara but my prayers are with her family during this time. It's one day at a time. For a long time. Cancer can suck it.
Anywho, I think I feel some restriction with this first fill. But I'm afraid to test it! I don't want to stretch anything, or get sick or I don't know what. So I'm following the rules! My PA said that if I am not losing 1 pound/week then we will do another fill in February. But, right now my next appt is for March. So day by day is how we will go people...

1st Fill
Hooray for fill day! So we start the day at the same ol weight. Darn. My appointment is about an hour away so I drank a protein shake on the way down. It was a Muscle Milk Vanilla Creme -oh no. No. Yuck. I love vanilla anything usually but holy crap. No. Got to the appt. and weighed in -3 from last visit. So they were pleased. I was hoping for more in that time but 1) a loss is a loss dammit. and 2) I haven't exercised like I should have so really what more could I expect.
So I saw my lovely RD. She moved me on to stage 3 foods. That being meats, low fat cheeses, whole eggs (as opposed to egg beaters), and veggie burgers. I believe liver is also on that list. Um no thanks -unless my gram is frying it up with some onions, but she's in heaven. And I can start my vitamins. Flinstones with iron. My paper also says that at the next appt I will be starting a clacium supplement and the b12 injection. Um what? I have no idea what that is or what's going on with that. I think Amy W has been talking about something like that so I'm going to go look for some more info.
Interestingly I should still avoid fruits, vegetables and startches/grains/breads for another 4 weeks. Is this pretty standard. I'm curious about the science behind it. Not that I"m doubting, or questioning, I'm really just wondering about it from the pouch/nutrition/digestion point.
Also on my sheet it says that protein is to be a minimum of 60g, and fluid goal is 48-64 ounces. But it doesn't mention a calorie goal? Anyone have input on what that could be? I sent an email to my RD asking her because I NEED guidelines!
On up to see the PA who does a lot of fills for my surgeons office. I really like him a lot. He's funny and makes you feel comfortable. And he may be nice to look at too ;-) Anywho, so he numbs me with some lidocaine and I'm glad he did. That fill needle is HUGE!!! Holy shitakemushroom! AND he had to poke around a little to find where exactly the bad boy is sitting. I heard "tonk tonk tonk tonk, Ok there it is!" Then in went 5cc. And then when he measured where the spot was I looked down and there was the gigantic needle sticking out of my stomach, waving around because I was talking. Oh my! Like I said, glad for the numbing. But all was well. Water went down fine. Shakes and broth has also been cruising down fine. I'm a little excited to have some egg in the morning just to see if I feel anything new.
I'm a little sad I'm missing support group tonight. It's a really great group and I learn something every time I go. But work is late this week. There is always next time!
